Hey, I’m Dr. Jami
Are you looking for a therapist who truly gets you—someone sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, poly and kink-savvy, who also understands the complexities and nuances of OCD?
If you’re tired of feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck in the same old thought loops, you’re not alone. It’s time to embrace the parts of your identity you’ve been hesitant to explore because of what others might think and challenge those anxious thoughts. You’re ready for change, and you deserve a supportive, non-judgmental space to make it happen.
I help teens, adults, and couples navigate anxiety, relationship issues, sexual concerns, and OCD. In addition to practical skills to help manage stress and improve your communication, you’ll gain insight into the deeper reasons behind your thoughts and feelings, leading to better self-awareness, stronger relationships, and lasting emotional well-being.
My therapeutic style is client-centered, evidence-based, and a blend of warm and direct. Laughter, tears, swearing, dark humor, and stories about your pets are all welcome in sessions with me! If you’re ready to get started or you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you!
My Approach
Collaborative
I prioritize a collaborative approach, working closely with clients to understand their unique experiences and challenges. Together, we will develop personalized treatment plans that align with your goals and values. This partnership fosters a supportive environment where clients feel empowered to actively participate in their own healing journey. By working together, we can achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Evidence-Based
Utilizing evidence-based strategies, I help individuals and couples develop coping tools, reduce anxiety, and strengthen their relationships. These proven techniques ensure that our work together is grounded in the latest psychological research and best practices. By applying methods such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based interventions, we can address a wide range of issues effectively. My goal is to provide clients with practical skills that lead to lasting positive change and improved overall well-being.
Exploration
My therapeutic approach also includes deep exploration of past and present relationship dynamics, empowering clients to achieve personal growth and relational fulfillment. By examining how early experiences shape current behaviors and emotional patterns, we can gain valuable insights into underlying issues. This self-awareness allows clients to break free from unhelpful cycles and build healthier, more satisfying connections with others. Together, we can foster personal transformation and lasting change through this reflective and insightful work.
